PAEDIATRIC SURGEON, BSc (Hons) MBBS (Hons) FRACS
Dr Carolyn Russell is a Paediatric surgeon who trained at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne prior to completing her training at the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick.
Following a fellowship year in Sydney, Dr Russell spent time travelling in Europe, meeting with prominent surgeons to learn techniques in her areas of interest, chest wall surgery and thoracic surgery.
Carolyn also performs newborn circumcision and newborn tongue tie release in her offices at Randwick and Gymea.
Dr Russell consults in Gymea, Randwick and Liverpool and operates privately at President Private Hospital in Kirrawee, Sydney Surgical Centre in Randwick and Sydney Southwest Private Hospital in Liverpool.
Carolyn has public hospital appointments at Sydney Children’s Hospital (SCH) in Randwick, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) in Camperdown and Liverpool Hospital in Liverpool. She operates regularly at these public hospitals and has public outpatients clinics at Sydney Children’s Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Your GP can send a referral to these outpatient departments to be put on the clinic waiting list.
Dr Russell is a member of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Australian & New Zealand Association of Paediatric Surgeons (ANZAPS), Chest Wall International Group (CWIG) and is a supervisor of paediatric surgical training at Sydney Children’s Hospital.
Carolyn has a special interest in the education of trainee surgeons.
Carolyn is married and has four young children. She enjoys keeping fit, skiing and spending time with her family.
